MADLENIANUM OPERA

Madlenianum Opera and Theatre was founded in 1998 as the first private opera in this part of Europe. The founder and the donor of MADLENIANUM is Mrs. Madlena Zepter, whose investments in culture and art represent the largest personal benefactor deed in this domain, not only in Serbia, but also in the European range in general.

Madlenianum has been organized as a model of a new musical-scenic theatre in Serbia, without its permanent ensemble, but with a permanent organization and administration apparatus and a technical team.

ZEPTER MUSEUM

The founder of the Museum (together with the co–founder ZEPTERINVEST) and its owner, Mrs. Madlena Zepter, a citizen of Belgrade and the world, and the world in Belgrade, presented her native city with another cultural institution. From the very beginning, because of its importance and high quality it has become a meeting place for all lovers of art from the town, the entire region and also from abroad.

By the decision of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia this establishment has been registered as the first private art museum in Serbia – the ZEPTER MUSEUM. This was probably the crown of donations and endowments, which is why the Ministry of Culture has decided to award the newly-established Golden Wreath Award for special contribution to the development of culture and art through patronage and donation exactly to Mrs. Zepter.

Mrs. Zepter has already donated her town: Zepter Gallery, Opera and Theater Madlenianum (the first private institution of this kind in Serbia), publishing activity and bookstore Zepter Book World and Madl Art. Knowing that the culture of a nation is a mirror in which its consciousness, belief and tradition reflects, in short, is the key through which the door of the consciousness of one nation and its institutions can be opened, Ms. Zepter ceremoniously opened the Zepter Museum on July 1, 2010.
